SAN SALVADOR RESTAURANTS ![]() ![]()
COLUMBUS ISLE AT CLUB MED
features a pricey, but fantastic buffet that is all you can eat. Three restaurants: main restaurant with varied buffets and 2 specialty restaurants located at the "Sea Center." 3 bars*. (Its promoters estimate that more than 30% of the island's population works at the club)
The main dining room, where meals are an ongoing series of buffets, lies in the resort's center. Two specialty restaurants offer Italian and grilled food, respectively. Nonfat, low-calorie, and vegetarian dishes are also featured. Nightly entertainment is presented in a covered, open-air theater and dance floor behind one of the bars. PARADIS RESTAURANTLocated at the Plaza Mall, this restaurant is open every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Typical local food such as cracked conch, salad conch, ribs, veal, fresh fish, peas and rice, crab and rice. Very friendly and welcoming staff. 3 SHIPS RESTAURANT AND BARin Cockburn Town is a local favorite. It is open for breakfast and lunch, and occasionally dinner. Since the early 1990s, Faith Jones, the owner, keeps visitors coming back for her cracked conch, steamed or fried grouper, and crab 'n' rice, served with mounds of coleslaw, potato salad, or peas 'n' rice. Spend some time here, and you're sure to strike up a conversation or two with Ms. Jones and the townspeople who stop in for food, drink, or just "to chew the fat" in more ways than one. Jones used to cater meals from her home next door before she opened this dining spot. PEACHES TAKEAWAYFeatures local Bahamian fare; in Cockburn Town NEW COLUMBUS TAVERNIn Victoria Hill features typical Bahamian fare -- like Crack Conch, BBQ Ribs, steamed fish, and pizza -- and yes they deliver!
